Join the REVolution: Meet the DDJ-REV1 controller for Serato DJ Lite Custom-designed layout makes it easy to have fun and play like pro battle DJs

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 is a new series of DJ controllers from the Pioneer DJ brand. This 2-channel unit matches perfectly with the free Serato DJ Lite software, boasting a brand-new battle-style layout that’s easy to use and perfect for playing like a pro DJ.

The DDJ-REV series is a fresh range of DJ controllers with layouts that emulate a professional DJM-S mixer + PLX turntable setup, including specialized features for open-format and scratch DJs. For the first time ever on a Pioneer DJ controller, the tempo sliders have been moved to the top of the deck sections and turned horizontally to emulate PLX turntables arranged in a battle configuration. The Performance Pads have been placed in the mixer section along with Lever FX paddles, exactly where they’re found on DJM-S series mixers, enabling you to energetically change the sound during performances.

You’ll find plenty of room to try out mixing techniques on this spacious layout, and scratching feels great on the jog wheels which are noticeably bigger than the jogs on previous controllers at this level. If you’re thinking about getting into battle mixing and scratching – and streaming your sets too – the DDJ-REV1 is the perfect piece of kit to start your journey with.

Right away, you can have fun and easily scratch your music with the help of Tracking Scratch. This handy feature returns the track to the cue point automatically when you move the jog wheel from backward to forward or take your hand away, so you don’t need to use the crossfader or worry about winding the jog back to the start point of your scratch. Simply choose the Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern you want to use by pressing the relevant Performance Pad and push the jog forward to scratch. You can also use the Performance Pads on the controller to instantly trigger your favorite samples or tracks that you’ve loaded to the Scratch Bank in Serato DJ Lite – previously only available in Serato DJ Pro – and, with Deck 3/4 Control, you can play sounds from all 4 decks in the software.

When you feel ready to stream your sets to friends and social media followers, you can easily incorporate speech and vocals if you plug a microphone into the controller. There’s no need for an external soundcard or mixer – the audio goes straight to your laptop and into the stream.

To use the DDJ-REV1 with Serato DJ Lite, download the latest version of the software for free.

Exclusive launch offer: Enjoy 3 months of TIDAL HiFi for free

Streaming with TIDAL in Serato DJ Lite gives you access to an endless music library at the highest level of audio quality available. With this limited-time launch offer, DJs will receive a unique code valid for 3 free months of TIDAL HiFi when connecting their DDJ-REV1 to Serato DJ Lite for the first time.

    KEY FEATURES

    Brand-new layout design: Perform intuitively

Get hands-on with an interface designed to emulate 2 x PLX turntables and a DJM-S series mixer – the kind of setup used by pro battle DJs.

    • Battle-style setup

There’s plenty of space to perform mixing and scratching techniques thanks to the new arrangement of the controls on the DDJ-REV1. The tempo sliders are 60 mm long, making them longer than those on the DDJ-SB3 to give you finer control, and they run horizontally above the decks, while the Performance Pads have been moved into the mixer section so you can intuitively combine effects, trigger samples, and scratch your tracks.

    • Bigger jog wheels

The bigger the jog wheels, the better for scratching. The jogs on the DDJ-REV1 are the same size as the ones on the DDJ-SR2, a popular controller that’s higher up in the Pioneer DJ range.

    • Lever FX

Dynamically add texture to the music with Lever FX in the mixer section. Pull the levers down and hold them to apply effects from Serato DJ Lite in short bursts or push them up to lock on effects and free up your hands for scratching or track browsing.

Tracking Scratch: Get a helping hand with scratching

The DDJ-REV1 can help you have fun scratching without doing it all for you. You’ll still need to hone your skills, but the Tracking Scratch feature will silently take the music back to the cue point the moment you move the jog wheel from backward to forward or lift your hand away – saving you from closing the fader and finding the right place in the music to start the scratch again. All you need to do is to select the Tracking Scratch Pad mode, press a Performance Pad to choose the Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern you want to use, then start moving the jog.

Mixed microphone audio: Easily add your voice while you’re streaming

For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller at this level, the output of the master audio is mixed with the sound from the microphone if you have one plugged in. This means you don’t need any external equipment such as a soundcard or separate mixer if you want to add speech or vocals to your performance and route it through your computer. All sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream from there.

Serato DJ Lite integration: Enjoy full use of the free software

As soon as you’ve downloaded Serato DJ Lite to your PC/Mac for free, you can simply connect the DDJ-REV1 via the supplied USB cable and start DJing. Enjoy tactile control of various features and effects in the software by manipulating the buttons, knobs, faders, and jog wheels on the controller.

With the Scratch Bank pad mode, you can instantly load scratch samples from 4 banks that you’ve assigned in Serato DJ Lite or Pro by simply tapping the dedicated Scratch Bank button. You can load from a specific start point too – handy if you want to use this feature to drop in full tracks during a routine.

    Other features

    • Deck 3/4 control: Play tracks and sounds loaded on any of the 4 decks in Serato DJ Lite.
    • Support for Serato DJ Pro: Take your performances to the next level with a free trial of Serato DJ Pro (paid permanent upgrade available separately).
    Pioneer DM-50D Monitors
The Pioneer DM-50D speakers deliver balanced, punchy bass sound and they can pump out extra power thanks to the new Class D amplifier and 5-inch woofer in each unit. Flick the switch to change from DJ mode to Production mode and the DSP settings will automatically create the best sound for each application.

    Key Features

    • Each Pioneer DM-50D speaker produces pure, balanced bass sound thanks to a new Class D amplifier with 96kHz sampling DSP.
    • Another advancement from the DM-40 model comes in the updated design of the DECO convex diffusers which help deliver crystal-clear high frequencies in every direction, so you can enjoy a wide sweet spot and 3D stereo sound wherever you are in the room.
    • In the Pioneer DM-50D the woofer and tweeter are perfectly aligned so you’ll hear all sound frequencies clearly.
    • The grooves on the ducts reduce air friction so bass is tight and punchy, even if you position the speakers against a wall. Plus, the curved front edges provide maximum rigidity and minimum resonance for clean audio at any volume level.
    • The 5-inch woofer creates powerful sound without distorting, even if you pump up the volume.

2-way sound mode – optimized for DJing and music production

There’s no need to decide whether you want a set of monitors that are best for DJing or making music, because the Pioneer DM-50D speakers are perfect for both. Just flip the switch to choose either DJ mode or Production mode and the DSP settings will be optimized for the task, leaving you free to concentrate on your mix.

Easy to use with different DJ or production equipment

With RCA, mini jack, and the newly added TRS input terminals, you can connect different kinds of gear such as DJ controllers and mixers, or the laptop or soundcard you use. Connecting your headphones is simple via the socket on the front panel and the level knob is right in front of you too.

    Pioneer HDJ-CUE1 Headphones

Start your DJ journey with the Pioneer HDJ-CUE1 headphones. Available in four different models, these fresh units come with modest price tags and bold features.

The HDJ-CUE1 headphones are ideal if you’re getting into DJing. Each model features a professional look and feel, rich sound, foldable design, and a high-quality finish – all for a modest price. Want to listen to music wirelessly? Choose one of the Bluetooth® units for a little extra freedom.

Using the same drivers from our professional HDJ-X5 model, the Pioneer HDJ-CUE1 headphones are specially tuned to make the most of the low frequencies in the bass and kick drums that are important for mixing. This great sound quality is essential so you can hear all the details in the music, enabling you to decide if a track is good enough to play at your next party, and so you’ll know exactly what your friends are going to hear when you drop the track in your set.

Whether you’re performing a mix or just relaxing and listening to music, comfort is crucial. To find the perfect fit, some DJs place their headphones on their head, while others like to drape them around the neck. Either style works great with the HDJ-CUE1 models, which are comfortable to use however you wear them thanks to the swivel mechanism and flexible, cushioned headband. They’ve passed our harsh durability tests too, so you can be sure they’ll handle bumps and knocks when you’re on the move or passing them between friends during back-to-back sets.

To help you express your own unique style, there’s an accessory pack available (HC-CP08 – sold separately) that comes in five different vibrant colors. Choose one of these packs and customize your HDJ-CUE1 headphones by swapping the cable and ear pads for the color that best reflects your personality.

    High-quality sound

Whether you’re DJing at a party or just listening to tracks at home or on the move, you’ll hear the true richness of your music – loud and clear. Specially tuned to make the most of the low frequencies in the bass and kick drums, all HDJ-CUE1 models feature dynamic drivers. So, as well as feeling the bass in the low-end, you’ll hear the clarity of the mids and high-end sounds. This is really helpful for performing better mixes because you can EQ each track more effectively, get two tracks working perfectly together, and create a smoother overall sound.

    Comfortable pro-style design

The HDJ-CUE1 DJ headphones have been designed to look and feel at home alongside our professional range. They’re lightweight and they fold up neatly so you can easily fit them into your bag. And however you like to wear your DJ headphones, you’ll find a comfortable fit. The swivel mechanism enables you to turn the ear cups a full 90 degrees, so you can easily listen with one ear while the other cup rests on the side or back of your head, or while your headphones are draped around your neck. The short, coiled cable is lightweight and keeps things tidy, but it stretches so you can move freely when playing music.

If you choose the HDJ-CUE1, your headphones will come in a dark silver finish for a high-quality look. To match your individual style, the Bluetooth version comes in three different colors with a matte finish: black, white, or red.

    Built to last

DJing often puts excessive stress on headphones and the HDJ-CUE1 models are designed to handle heavy use. Each moving part has passed the strict in-house durability tests that we put all our headphones through. Extra-strong metal sliders in the comfy headband bring reliability and extend the life of your DJ headphones, and the cable’s bayonet connector prevents accidental disconnections, while the L-type mini-jack at the other end means you won’t knock it out of place when you’re using DJ gear. You can also remove the cable from the DJ headphones when you’re not using them, preventing stress on the contacts.

    Customizable look

Whichever model you choose, you’ll be able to personalize your look by switching the cable and ear pads on your DJ headphones for one of five bright colors with an HC-CP08 accessory pack (available separately). Each pack includes two replacement ear pads and a detachable coiled cable in either orange, yellow, green, blue, or pink.
